About Me: Ken Naquin
Hello! I’m Ken Naquin, and I’m passionate about serving and guiding others on their faith journey. I believe that faith is not just a set of beliefs; it’s a transformative journey that shapes our lives.
My Calling and Journey
I grew up going to mass most weeks as a Roman Catholic. When I was 10 years old and still attending mass on Saturday nights, my mom began to bring me to a Baptist church on Sunday mornings. I asked lots of questions about the differences between the two church services. Through those questions, I began to understand my need to receive Jesus Christ as my Saviour and Lord.
At ten years old I committed my life to Jesus and went to an Evangelical Free church with an active youth group. I also enjoyed being in a Christian junior high school. When I was 13, we moved to Florida where we joined First Baptist Church, Pensacola. I was active in the youth group and during college I remained connected with the collegiate ministry. As a college student, I served in both the children’s and youth ministries.
After becoming a Christian, I felt a tug toward ministry early on and several experiences contributed to my sense of call. Godly family members, a healthy church community, and two summers of working as a youth intern were part of God leading me into ministry. After college, I studied at SWBTS and have served in church work since completing seminary in 2000. My journey has taken me through theological studies, pastoral roles, and meaningful interactions with diverse congregations. Throughout every experience God continues to graciously teach me things through the privilege of serving the local church.
My Approach
- Relational Ministry: I believe in building authentic relationships. Listening, understanding, and walking alongside others are essential aspects of my ministry.
- Biblical Foundation: The Word of God is my guide. I seek to apply its timeless truths to contemporary challenges.
- Compassionate Leadership: Pastoral ministry requires empathy, compassion, and a heart for those in need. I strive to be compassionate and aspire to walk in gracious holiness.
